Look how Avery has grown!

Avery is growing like a weed! Her personality shows through too. She loves bath time now, but that wasn't the case the first week she came home from the hospital. She has graduated from her bassinet to her crib and is cooing and talking up a storm. She has grown out of all of her shoes and I have had to retire some of her cutest outfits. (We took all of her toys out of the crib for sleep) She still does not sleep through the night, but she wakes only once or twice and Jason does the first feeding which helps out so much. I've been able to get five or more hours of sleep at night.

Avery loves to sit up. She enjoys her Bumbo chair or sitting on laps. She's starting to tolerate her Tummy Time a little more too. She is a really good baby with a sweet disposition (so far), but she is not always 100% happy. She lets us know when she's not happy by puffing up her bottom lip and making a pouty face. It usually means she's tierd and needs a cuddle for bed or nap time. She does self soothe by sucking on her knuckles or pacifier. When she's really unhappy she lets us know loud and clear, but we can usually figure out what she needs.

Avery went to two birthday parties recently. Patrick's first birthday party was cowboy themed and she wore her pink John Deer cowboy boots and a pink bandanna. Before long the cowgirl was tuckered out and napped throughout the comotion in her cow jammies. At Destiny's thrid birthday the suprize guest was Cinderella! The festivities were fit for all little princesses.

As for Mommy, I'm getting ready to go back to work. It is bitter sweet. The thought of leaving her for twelve hours is hard but I'm excited to go back to my nursing job in the ER that I love. It will be three or four days a week. I graduated from the BSN program back in May when Avery was in my tummy from Cal State Dominguez Hills. I've been going to the gym three times per week to the Aqua Fit classes to strenghten my back. It is a slow process but I feel good. I miss Grandpa everyday but I know he is with our Lord and is at peace.

Papa works all the time but he is a great father and he loves his girls; Harley too, our dog.

Our family is so blessed. Even though things are tight with the economic crisis we are getting by even with me not working thanks to the love and support of our families and our friends. We can't thank you enough. We love you all.

Happy New Year 2009!

Evan's favorite gift this Christmas was a little nut cracker from Santa and a Wii. Avery was a little snow girl for Christmas! She catnapped throughout the day and enjoyed visiting with family. It was very cold on December 25, 2008 so she didn't get to wear her Christmas dress until New Year's Day.

We all stayed home for New Year's Eve. Jason and I couldn't even stay awake until midnight. Breanna had her friend Sophia over and we ate finger foods and drank sparkling cider. We are so thankful for what this new year represents for our family. Avery is a little blessing and she changes everyday. It will be a great experience to watch her grow during this next year. I hope everyone has a great 2009.

Breanna has been away on a school trip to Yosemite. We miss her and can't wait to hear all about it. I'm sure there was a lot of snow play and recreation.
